As the hot summer weather approaches, mosquito season reaches its peak. Mosquito bites can be more than just annoying and itchy. They can make you really sick.
SWIS conducts an anti-mosquito campaign. Disinfecting is only done during after-school hours. Outdoor spaces will be disinfected every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, while indoor spaces every Saturday.
To avoid allergic reactions, the school will not provide or apply sunscreen or insect repellant for students. Children should wear sun hats for outdoor activities. Pre-K to G2 students are advised to have sunscreen applied before coming to school. Students above G3 can bring sunscreen to school but they should not share their lotion with others. To prevent mosquito or insect bites, insect repellant bracelets/ stickers are effective alternatives to bug spray.
