This is the time of year when we start thinking about transitions. Our Grade 10 students have started a programme of transition summits for both parents and students for their step-up to the Diploma Programme. They are looking at choosing subjects, university requirements for different courses and what the Core of the Diploma means to a student. There have also been several sessions for the parents of Grade 9 and 10 students to understand more about the DP.

For the other end of MYP the parent sessions for transitioning into the Secondary school and understanding the MYP have begun and have been well supported by the Grade 5 parents. The sessions for the students in Grade 5 will begin after they have completed their PYP Exhibition.

It is always very rewarding as a coordinator to have such enthusiastic and interested parents as we do at SWIS who give up their time to come and learn more about the programmes for that their children are involved in.

The Grade 10 students submitted their final Personal Projects on Friday last week. They had time to reflect and revise their written report after the successful PP exhibition that was held in January. This is the culminating piece of work for MYP and we are very proud of the achievements of our Grade 10 students.
