The International Day of Peace ("Peace Day") is observed around the world each year on September 21st. Established in 1981 by unanimous United Nations resolution, Peace Day provides a globally shared day for all humanity to commit to Peace above all differences and to contribute to building a Culture of Peace.
This year at SWIS we are honoring the idea of climate action for Peace as the theme. This is the global theme for this year. We will do this by making electronic messages of peace to share with our community through seesaw, tv screens in the school and at learning celebrations. We are asking the whole SWIS community to make a short message of peace.
The students in the elementary school will again be singing about peace in the afternoon before pick-up time. The messages of peace will be shown on the screen near the gate before the singing begins.
If you are interested in sharing a message of peace from your family or yourself, please upload your message video by clicking the below link.
We invite parents to come to watch and listen to the singing from 3:00 pm on Friday, September 20th.
We look forward to your messages of Peace.
